Construction Site Cleanup & Sweeping in Corpus Christi, TX

and the South Texas Region

Construction site cleaning for active builds across Corpus Christi and the Coastal Bend. Gulf wind carries sand and fines off a job site faster than most schedules allow for, so crews sweep haul routes, gate approaches, and staging pavement on a set cadence and leave dated records for the SWPPP binder after every visit.

Built for active job sites

General contractors working the Coastal Bend, from terminal and petrochemical construction along the Inner Harbor to retail pads on South Padre Island Drive and Saratoga Blvd and residential phases out toward Padre Island and Flour Bluff, rely on us to keep the street at the gate in the condition an inspector expects. Crews handle track-out sweeping, sand, and debris around pours, deliveries, and stacked trades, working days or nights, and the sweeping cadence changes as the site plan advances.

Construction site cleaning across Corpus Christi serves a project from mobilization to turnover. Pre-construction cleanup comes first. The pad and access roads are cleared, and vegetation debris, demolition material, and the sand and silt that gather on staging areas are swept and hauled so trucks start on clean ground. Post-construction cleanup comes last. Crews sweep haul routes and curb lines, magnet-sweep nails and tie wire from the pavement, wash mud, salt residue, and sand from the flatwork, and leave the public street at the entrance clean before the owner arrives for the walk-through.

The workload is not letting up. The rebuilt Harbor Bridge on US-181 reshaped the downtown approaches, TxDOT keeps reworking stretches of SH 358 and I-37, and the U.S. Census Bureau’s Building Permits Survey tracks steady residential permitting across the metro. Each of those is future pavement with track-out to control.

What’s included

What construction site cleanup covers on a Coastal Bend build

  • Track-out & haul-route sweeping
  • Blown sand & fines along curb lines
  • Sand & sediment removal at gates and entrances
  • Magnetic sweeping of nails, tie wire & metal
  • Sweeps before pours, inspections & owner visits
  • Paving & milling cleanup
  • Dated records for the SWPPP binder on each visit
  • Final cleanup before turnover

Sandy soil and salt air make Coastal Bend sites behave differently from inland caliche sites, so we assign dust-suppressed machines designed for fine material. The TYMCO DST-4 is a dustless sweeper suited to that sand and grit, and magnet bars collect nails and tie wire from haul routes before they puncture a subcontractor tire. At turnover, a final pressure wash removes salt film and restores the finished appearance of the flatwork.

We perform exterior site work only: construction sweeping, track-out control, and debris pickup on pavement, haul routes, and gate approaches. Interior post-construction janitorial cleaning is handled by a different trade, and we can refer one when the project calls for it.

Why it matters

What does SWPPP compliance require from cleanup in Corpus Christi and the South Texas region?

On most Texas sites sediment leaves with the rain. On the coast it also leaves with the wind: a steady Gulf breeze moves sand and fines from a graded pad onto the street on a dry day, with no storm involved. The EPA NPDES construction stormwater program and the TCEQ construction general permit (TXR150000) still expect the operator to keep that material on the site, so track-out and blown sand at the gate need attention every working day and not only after a storm.

Our crews sweep the gate, the haul routes, and the windward curb lines on a set schedule and leave a dated record of each visit, including the material hauled off. A site superintendent can show that record to a city inspector at the entrance. Because the inlets along these streets are only a few blocks from Oso Bay and Corpus Christi Bay, the same sweeping keeps sand and sediment out of the water.

Questions

Corpus Christi construction cleanup FAQ

Can crews work around an active build schedule?

We do it daily. Sweeps are slotted before the gate opens, after the last load leaves, or between phases at midday, clear of pours and deliveries. On phased work the cadence is set up front and adjusted when the schedule shifts.

How do you handle blowing sand and Gulf wind?

Sandy soil and a steady breeze off the bay push fines onto curb lines and gate approaches between passes, so Coastal Bend sites often want a tighter cadence than inland ones. Our sweepers vacuum the fines with dust suppression rather than pushing them around, and passes get timed around the windiest hours where the schedule allows. After a storm or a hurricane-season blow, we can add a pass on short notice.

Do your crews sweep for nails with magnets?

Every time. The magnet pass covers haul routes, gate approaches, and laydown areas, where nails and tie wire collect in loose sand. It protects tires now and the paving crew later, and tidy work areas cut trip and puncture injuries, which CPWR covers in its housekeeping toolbox talk.

What SWPPP records do we receive after each visit?

A dated record follows every visit and notes what was swept, where, and what was hauled off. Your super can file it in the SWPPP binder to document track-out control under the TXR150000 general permit. It also speaks to the City of Corpus Christi storm water construction requirements, which ask for sediment to be held at the source.

Is this construction sweeping or post-construction cleaning?

Construction sweeping. Everything we do is on the outside of the project: gates, haul routes, staging pavement, curbs, and the adjoining street, with nail magnets and SWPPP records. For interior post-construction cleaning, meaning dust, glass, and floors, you will need a janitorial contractor.
