Documented at the gate

Houston’s black gumbo clay is famous for two things: swallowing boots and riding truck tires straight out the gate. Moore Clean’s construction site services keep job sites and their haul routes clean across the region, from multifamily and mixed-use going up in EaDo and The Heights, warehouse and distribution builds along Beltway 8 and the Port corridor, office and medical projects in the Energy Corridor and Texas Medical Center orbit, and subdivision work spreading through Katy, Cypress, and Fulshear.

Construction site cleaning across Houston begins before the first truck arrives and continues through turnover. Pre-construction cleanup clears the pad and access roads prior to mobilization, removing vegetation debris, demolition leftovers, and the wet clay and silt that settle on staging areas. Post-construction cleanup gets the site ready to hand over: haul routes and curb lines are swept, nails and tie wire are collected from the pavement, mud and residue are washed from the flatwork, and the public street at the gate is left clean for the owner walk-through.

New work keeps arriving: the Houston area is consistently among the national leaders in construction activity tracked by the U.S. Census Bureau Building Permits Survey, and each of those permits leads to a site where track-out must be managed.

Our routes

Sites in Houston and the Gulf Coast region swept ahead of every inspection

What’s included

What our construction site sweeping and cleanup covers

  • Trackout & haul-route sweeping
  • Mud & sediment cleared from gates and entrances
  • Pre-pour sweeps & sweeps before inspections
  • Magnet passes for nails, screws & metal debris
  • Paving & milling cleanup
  • Recurring visits that follow the phasing plan
  • SWPPP-ready documentation of every visit
  • Final cleanup before turnover

Wet clay and broken pavement call for equipment built for it, and our TYMCO DST-4 dustless sweeper handles the fine, sticky material Houston sites shed, and magnet bars pull nails and tie wire off haul routes before a sub’s tire finds them. At close-out, a final pressure wash takes the last of the site off the flatwork.

The service is limited to the exterior of the site, meaning construction sweeping, trackout control, and debris clean-up on haul routes, pavement, and gate approaches. Post-construction janitorial cleaning inside the building is a different trade, and we can direct you to a firm that performs it.

Why it matters

What does SWPPP compliance look like in Houston and the Gulf Coast region?

Houston’s drainage runs on inches of grade; sediment a site sheds today is in a bayou-bound inlet by the next thunderstorm, and trackout on a public street is the violation every inspector sees first. The regulatory framework is the same federal and state structure that applies across Texas, the EPA’s NPDES construction stormwater program implemented through the TCEQ construction general permit (TXR150000), but the stakes here are higher.

Scheduled sweeping turns that exposure into evidence: dated records showing haul routes swept, gates controlled, and sediment hauled off, with documentation that satisfies both the City of Houston stormwater program and your own risk manager. For builders new to these rules, the National Association of Home Builders maintains a stormwater resource page that explains the federal requirements in plain terms.

Questions

Houston construction cleanup FAQ

Can you keep up with a site during the rainy season?

Yes. That’s most of the job here. After heavy rain we prioritize gates and haul routes where clay gets carried out, and we can bump cadence during wet months so trackout never accumulates. Sites that sweep on a schedule spend less per visit than sites that call us after the street’s already coated.

Is magnetic nail sweeping included?

Yes, it is part of the visit. Magnets ride along on each construction sweep and clear nails, screws, and wire from the gate, the haul route, and staging, a low-cost way to protect tires and the paving schedule.

What documentation do you provide for our SWPPP?

Service records are dated and list what was swept, where, and what left the site, so they slot into the SWPPP binder as proof of ongoing trackout control under the TXR150000 general permit. The City of Houston stormwater program looks for active sediment control at the gate, and the log shows it visit by visit.

Do you work around pours and delivery schedules?

Yes. We sweep at dawn before the gate opens, in the evening after the last truck, or in the midday lull, whichever keeps us out of the way of pours and deliveries. Phased builds get a recurring cadence that flexes with the plan.

Is this construction sweeping or post-construction cleaning?

Construction sweeping only. Crews handle the pavement and dirt side of the site, from the gate and haul route to the curb line and the street outside, with nail magnets and SWPPP paperwork. Post-construction cleaning inside the building is a separate trade we leave to others.
